Older homes have been sealed tighter over the years
by the owners with new windows, door seals and caulking.
Preventing the loss of indoor air also means that we do
not get enough fresh air into the home. Even the best air
purifiers cannot replace the need for a reasonable amount
of fresh air.
So why do people seal their homes so tightly? To save
on heating and cooling bills. However, there is now a money saving solution.
This Heat Recovery Ventilator delivers fresh air and exhausts
stale air while exchanging heat/coolness between the incoming
and outflowing air. This means that in the winter, over 80% of the
temperature of the warm air that is exhausted is transferred
to the incoming fresh air. When it is hot outside, the cool
airconditioned indoor air will cool down the incoming fresh air.
This results in a dramatic reduction in heating and cooling costs
while allowing an increase in fresh air exchange. The savings can
often pay for the system in a short space of time.
The unit has a built-in duct fan and can be used on it's
own or installed on the fresh air intake of your existing
HVAC (Heating/Cooling)system.
