Meticulously designed, the 5000 MCS features an 18 lb. high-efficiency carbon filter and a medical grade HEPA filter to remove airborne chemicals, gases, odors and particles. This unit is perfect for those who are sensitive towards perfumes, pesticides, fuels, carpets, and building materials. This unit's special blend of granular activated Mac-B carbon helps relieve symptoms by trapping these chemicals while at the same time the machine is built to ensure that not even the smallest traces of chemical vapors are released back into the atmosphere. The unit is carefully manufactured with no glue or bonding agents, totally inert gaskets, unbleached pesticide-free cotton muslin pre-filters, and motors with minimal varnish on the windings to prevent off-gassing.

Unlike the D-MCS unit, this model features a medical-grade HEPA filter capable of removing up to 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns in size -- the size of some bacteria. This means you can filter out irritating particles such as pollen, dust, dust mites, and other allergens while still benefitting from the advanced chemical sensitivity features of this unit.

The AllerAir 5000 MCS offers the following filters:

• This unit contains a whopping 18 lb. granular activated MAC-B carbon filter. The more carbon you have, the more gases, odors, and other pollutants will be trapped. The filter gaskets are inert and no glue or bonding agents are used in carbon bed, meaning there is little to no off-gassing. The carbon can adsorb for up to 24 months before it needs replacement. This unit uses a special blend of carbon that may be better tolerated by those who normally cannot tolerate carbon filters.
• The included HEPA filter can trap 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, the size of some bacteria. Dust mites, pollen, mold spores, and pet dander will be trapped in the unit and taken out of the ambient air. The HEPA material is warm rolled to prevent cracking at the folders and has been laser tested to ensure integrity.
• The pre-filter stops the largest particles from reaching the HEPA and carbon filter, prolonging filters' life. The filter is washable, saving money and time by reducing the number of filter changes. It is with unbleached pesticide-free cotton pre-filter to minimize irritants.

AllerAir units feature a robust, all-metal housing which has been powder-coated to ensure that harmful vapors are not released to the atmosphere. It is constructed of 18 gauge steel, yet can easily be moved around thanks to its smooth-rolling, heavy-duty casters. Air flow is maximized by the cylindrical shape of the unit. To change the filters, simply screw off the bottom of the unit and instantly make the change.

Filter Change Schedule

* Based on use in a normal home environment. Carbon and HEPA filters can be replaced individually. Pre-filters are sold in packages of 4, covering 1 year of functioning. Pre-filters can be vacuumed and reused.
