I've had the Dirt Tamer Ultima model #2510 for over 5 years. It's by far the best handheld vac I've ever had. The battery still works, but it is getting weak, which is expected after 5 years. The key to keeping the battery fresh and working good is to only charge the unit when it displays the "low battery" red light. I got this information directly from the manufacturer. Do not keep it charging on a constant basis. That's the mistake I made. Anyway, you can purchase a new battery pack from the manufacturer for $25.99 plus $10.00 shipping. I like this vac so much that I just purchased another one from AlerG.com. I put the new one in my kitchen and the old one in the garage, right next to my minivan. I use the one in the kitchen every single day. It will pick up just about anything, even heavy things. Highly recommend this vac.
The vacuum is very good, but after 4 years, the battery went totally dead, and now I can't seem to locate a new one. So, without the battery pack, the vacuum is useless. I feel Alerg should sell the battery pack needed for their product.
I had a V2210 for several years and when the battery would not rechartge I looked for a replacement.
I went with the V2510 for the slightly additional suction power. Other vendor's vacs are cheaper but the DirtTamers work great. My kids love to use it too. Does not have 5 stars from me because It could be a little quieter. It picks up just about anything though,
including workshop debris. Dont bother with the accessories, the dust cup opening works fine everywhere. Not for those who cant bend over easily.
Very impressed by the power. Has more suction then some large vacuums I've had. Battery life is great for a handheld too. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a handheld vacuum that actually picks something up! The only negative I have seen is that it is a little heavier than most so someone with hand problems may struggle with it.
