  • The quietest HEPA-filtered vacuum available
  • Allows no "blow back" of dust common in lesser-quality vacuums
  • Removes dust & allergens from tile, carpet, upholstery, hardwoods, draperies, electronics equipment and more
  • HEPA filter lasts 5 yrs with normal use, and the main filter can be cleaned using the vacuum itself and will last the life of vacuum.

Most allergy sufferers don't realize that particles such as dust, dust mite feces, mold and animal dander that gather underneath furniture or deep in carpeting are a major cause of allergic reaction, ...but they are. Even worse, if you're using an ordinary home vacuum to remove these particles, you're just redistributing the dust you've vacuumed up back into the air and throughout your home. This aggravates the very allergies that you're trying to relieve. Frustrated? Don't be. Now with a 2-speed, 1100 watt (9 Amp) motor, the Nilfisk Family Vac eliminates 99.97% of all particles down to 0.3 microns in size (it eliminates most particles even smaller than that) to effectively relieve allergies, asthma and respiratory ailments.

Regular home vacuums can only remove particles 50 microns or larger. The Nilfisk vacuum differs because of its special three-stage, sealed filtration system. The dust you pick up is trapped in the vacuum, not blown back out through the exhaust. In fact, particle testing shows almost no dust particles at all escape from the vacuum's exhaust. Many vacuums can't make this claim. Plus, the True HEPA filter is cost-effective and easy to replace. The Family Vac includes a telescoping wand, plastic tapered hose, floor tool, dust brush, crevice tool, upholstery nozzle with drapery insert and package of 5 vacuum cleaner bags.

Quiet, Easy to Use, Excellent Filtration

05/14/2006 - by JB from Illinois

Vacuuming is a boring but necessary activity for good health. I should vacuum daily due to allergies but do not. At most I do this work once per week. I've always used Nilfisk vacuums because I have allergies and asthma. I decided to give away my old Nilfisk to a friend who has allergies. It is more than 10 years old and runs perfectly (that's Nilfisk's reliability). It turns out that the Nilfisk Family Vac offers many advantages over the old Nilfisk. It is easier to replace the HEPA filter on the Family Vac than on the Nilfisk GD 90C. The Family Vac has a good center of gravity. It has a longer cord. It is very quiet - which means that if I vacuum at midnight, I will not wake up my neighbors in the condominimum buiding where I live. When I went shopping for vacuums with Hepa filters, I found that most of the "popular" HEPA vacuum cleaners are built with flimsy plastic. Not so with the Nilfisk Family Vac. Its plastic truly is of a higher quality (never did I think that I would say this about plastic). The "rake" attachment for vacuuming floors that comes with the Nilfisk Family Vac is very effective (I have as little carpet as possible). The air-driven turbo nozzle is effective on the minimal low pile carpet that I do have. The Nilfisk Family Vac represents good value for the money. A vacuum cleaner repairman told me that Nilfisk's consumer vacuums are designed to be of commercial quality, with the capability to last at least 20 years. I believe it. The Nilfisk's suction power is superior to any other vacuum on the market. If you have a pet that sheds hair, that extra suction power is important. I'm always amazed at how few people know about Nilfisk. It costs just a bit more than an Electrolux and much less than many models from Miele. My opinion, however, is that the Nilfisk Family Vac is better value than either of them. I thus recommend the Nilfisk Family Vac. I've also found Nilfisk customer service very helpful in answering questions. While I cannot state that other HEPA vacuums are BAD, I am comfortable in stating that Nilfisk is at least one of the best, if not the best. I will not use anything else. Knowing that hospitals use Nilfisk products in cleanrooms is enough to convince me to continue using Nilfisk.

Sneeze-free cleaning

03/18/2005 - by LMM from Irvine, CA US

For years now, this has been my weekend cleaning ritual: I dust and vacuum while my husband does the yardwork. When I'm done, I take a moment or two to yell at my husband because all the pollen he kicked up during yardwork gave me a headache, made me sneeze and closed my throat.

Until two weeks ago, that is...

After using the Nilfisk to do my vacuuming and dusting (with the attachments), I realized that it was the first weekend in as long as I can remember that I hadn't spent an hour on the couch sniffling and sneezing. I tried it again this past weekend, and got the same results.

Not only was I not sneezing, but the thick film of dust that always recoats our black A/V equipment didn't reapper for days - and even then, it was HALF what it normally is.

The Nilfisk does a great job of sucking up dust and dander without spewing half of it back out through the vents, like my (6-month old) Hoover does. It is lightweight and portable, and most importantly - it's kept my allergies to a bare minimum.
