One of the most powerful portable air conditioners
available.
- Cools and dehumidifies spaces up to 500 sq. ft.
- Stop dust mite, mold, and mildew allergies before they start
- One of the highest capacity portable air conditioners available
- Portable and easy to move
- Requires minimum 20A dedicated circuit
- Germicidal UV Light Included!
For many, air conditioners are essential for the hot, humid months of summer.
For allergy sufferers, they are even more important. First, air conditioners
are half cooling, half dehumidifying. Since allergens such as dust mites, mold,
and mildew flourish in warm, humid conditions, the dehumidifying function is
essential to keeping their populations under control -- stopping your allergies
before they start. Second, with an air conditioner, you can block a major source
of allergens into your home -- your windows. By closing your windows, you prevent
dust, pollen, and other pollutants from entering your home and make your HEPA
air purification system much more effective.
The WA-1400E is the most powerful portable air conditioner on the market. It
has a 14,000 btu/hour capacity, meaning it can cool rooms as large as 500 sq.
ft.
Dehumidifying is easy and efficient with this unit. As soon as you turn on
this air conditioner, the dehumidifier turns on with it.
Moisture is extracted from the air and either is funneled through exhaust hose
(all standard parts included) or is directed to cool the unit itself. This “self-evaporative
feature” saves energy by optimizing efficiency. In fact, this unit has
an Energy efficiency rating (EER) of 11.2, a level that will definitely keep
your energy bills low.
Unlike wall or window units, this air conditioner can be moved to where you
need it. Cool and dehumidify the air in your living room during the day, and
move the unit to your bedroom at night. The heavy duty casters make it easy
to get it exactly where you want it.
The unit includes an electronic display with digital thermostat, and three
speeds for temperature control. Control the air conditioner from a distance
with the handy included remote control. The unit features Memory IC so your
system will restart on its own after a power failure. Louvers can be directed
to the area you need to cool most. Set the 12 hour programmable timer or run
the unit continuously. This unit includes a dual washable air filter for basic
allergen removal and a dual carbon filter for basic odor removal. For best results,
combine with a HEPA purifier.
This air conditioner has a 14,000 btu/hour capacity, making it ideal for
rooms up to 500 sq. ft. It requires a minimum 20A dedicated circuit. Limited
1 year warranty.

Self-Evaporative Technology and Water Drainage
This portable AC unit is equipped with an advanced condensation removal system:
Self-Evaporating Technology. When running AC mode, this technology recycles
the water condensation to cool off the cooling coils, then evaporates the water
out with the exhaust air. This results in increased energy efficiency, cooling
performance and reduces the need to empty the water tank. Under extremely humid
conditions, the water condensation may collect faster than the unit can recycle.
Should the built-in water tank becomes full, the compressor will automatically
shut-off and water full indicator will blink. At this time, water should be
emptied, which is a simple process.
Window Kit
This unit is supplied with a 1" thick Foam Window Kit. The benefit of
foam kit is its versatility and heat resistance over plastic kits. Foam can
be easily trimmed to the desired size and once you close your window against
the kit, the edges conform to the window frame and the result is a better seal
than plastic.
Exhaust
All portable AC units require exhaust hose installation. This is for removal
of hot air which has been used to cool off the compressor. Standard installation
includes venting through a sliding window or through the wall, by cutting a
hole. This AC unit is supplied with the necessary accessories for either installation:
flexible hose (extends up to 5'), window kit and wall adapter.
Selecting the Right Model
When selecting a portable air conditioner, there are other factors to take
into consideration other than the BTU and the suggested square footage. If the
space you're looking to cool has one or more of the following factors, it is
strongly recommended to go one or two size up:
- Heat source such as computer servers, major appliance, skylight, direct
sunlight, etc.
- Higher floors.
- Lots of windows, especially those facing the west.
- Poor insulation, such as garage, sunroom, mobile home, etc.
Usage Tips
- Keep the exhaust hose as short and straight as possible.
- Heat is emitted back into the room as hot air travels throught the hose,
try insulating the hose.
- If unit is to be operated thoughout the day, turn on the unit early, before
the noon heat hits.
- If unit is to be operated at night and outdoor temperature is lower than
room temperature, first open windows to allow air exchange. After 15/20 minutes,
close windows.
- When unit is turned on, set fan on High to allow air circulation. After
30 minutes, set fan to Low. In low fan, air is allowed to pass through the
cooling coils over a longer period of time, thus the air output will be colder
than High fan.
- For units with Self-Evaporating Technology, it is always suggested to not
use continuous drainage in cooling mode. Allowing the water to collect and
recycle helps cool down the cooling coils, which in turn produce colder air
output.
