Although most people know that air conditioners cool the air, fewer realise that air conditioning is half cooling and half humidity control. Maintaining the proper humidity level is vital for allergy sufferers. Humidity makes your home hot, sticky, and uncomfortable, and creates ideal conditions for the growth of household organisms. Dust mites, mold, mildew, and a host of other creatures flourish in warm, humid environments, causing their populations to explode and your allergies to suffer. By lowering the humidity, air conditioners make your home feel comfortable and inhibit the growth of allergens within it.

And, of course, with an air conditioner you can close your windows and still be comfortable. By closing your windows, you prevent dust, pollen, pollutants and other irritants from entering your home and make your HEPA air purification system much more effective.
